2025 Field Day Wrap Up – Dowerin & Newdegate

As the dust settles on another fantastic year of WA’s iconic field days, we’re reflecting on two standout events that brought together growers, students, and industry leaders in true country style. From sunny skies to sizzling Webers, here’s our wrap-up of Dowerin and Newdegate Field Days 2025.

Dowerin Field Days

Dowerin turned on the charm this year with a perfect sunny day that had everyone in good spirits. Growers were quietly optimistic, with many looking forward to above-average yields—a welcome outlook after a dry start.  We had a blast chatting with the Harvey Ag School students, who brought great energy and curiosity to the tent. It was also a pleasure to serve up Milos to all the non-coffee drinkers—turns out alternative hot drinks are a hit!

The Webber Q raffle was a crowd favourite, drawing in heaps of entries. Congratulations to Andrew from Geraldton, who took home the prize and, no doubt, some serious BBQ bragging rights.  As the afternoon cooled, the timing couldn’t have been better - rain rolled in just in time for everyone to cosy up in the tent for the CBH sundowner, rounding out the day with great company and even better conversations.  We were thrilled with the fantastic turnout and the steady stream of meaningful chats, especially with students keen to explore careers in ag. The future of our industry is looking bright!

Newdegate Field Days

Newdegate brought the sunshine and the smiles. While frost was a concern for many growers we spoke to, as is most September months, the general sentiment was positive, with growers feeling confident about how the season is shaping up.  Our pink DailyGrain bucket hats were a runaway success—running out before lunch on Day 1! We’ll be bringing more next year to keep up with demand.  A big shoutout to Mitch Argent, who won the Yeti Eski competition, and to all the growers who took the time to complete our surveys. Your insights are invaluable, and we’re grateful for your contributions.  Newdegate absolutely nailed the firework display! A spectacular display that lit up the night and capped off the day in style.

A celebration of community and Ag

Both events were a testament to the strength and spirit of our ag community. From seasoned growers to the next generation of ag professionals, the turnout was incredible, and the conversations were rich with insight, optimism, and shared passion.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, entered a comp, grabbed a hat, signed up to a DailyGrain membership or simply had a yarn with us. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
